New WiFi Connection Setup
7. My modem is located on one side of the house. Will my WiFi signal reach the other end?
Your tech will identify the best possible location for your router, however walls and other obstructions can degrade the signal. If necessary, your tech may suggest adding a WiFi extender to your network to improve your WiFi coverage.
8. What is needed in order to set up a new WiFi connection?
First, you'll need to have a functioning internet connection provided by your Internet Service Provider such as Telstra or Optus or TPG. You should already have a modem which provides internet access by connecting devices directly to your modem with ethernet cables. Some modems have built-in WiFi capabilities that can be utilized to create a WiFi network. If yours does not, you'll need a router that is capable of providing a reliable WiFi signal throughout your home.
WiFi Signal Extension
9. Will I need more than 1 WiFi extender?
We'd need to assess your particular set up to know for sure. If your home is very large or your router is on one side of the house, you may want to have 2 extenders on hand just in case. If you need help in determining how many WiFi extenders you need, just let us know and we can help guide you prior to your appointment. Many customers prefer to book a WiFi Connectivity Support service first to diagnose the best solution for the optimal WiFi network.
