1. How long after installation can a fridge be used?

If you have bought a new refrigerator then you must at least wait for 2 hours and at the most for 24 hours to place the food inside. 3. Why do you have to wait 24 hours to plug in a fridge?

The short answer is to keep your fridge or freezer in proper working order. This is due to an oil which is present in the compressor on your appliance, an oil which, if leaked into the refrigeration system during movement, can cause a blockage once the appliance is turned back on.

 

4. Does it ruin a refrigerator to lay it down?

If you do lay your fridge down to move it, you can lay it on its front or side, but it's not recommended that you lay it on its back; the weight of the fridge's body on its working parts could damage them, even if they're not exposed

 

5. How long does it take to install a fridge?

Unpack, install and set-up should take no longer than an hour. Refrigerators these days have wheels which allows a quick & easy install. An ice maker attachment may take a bit longer.

 

6. How do you fix a refrigerator that was laying down?

If your refrigerator was on its side for more than 24 hours, let it stand upright for 24 hours before plugging it in. Allowing the fridge to stand in its normal position before plugging it in will give the oil time to flow back into the compressor where it belongs
